Departments can purchase single-day parking passes for individual visitors, small groups, and larger special events happening on campus. The cost for these passes will be billed via ISD to the Worktag(s) that you provide with your request.
- For simple visits and events where you just want to pre-pay for your visitor's parking, request General Visitor Parking Passes.
- For events that have more complex needs, see the Special Event Parking section below.
Visitor and Special Event Parking may not be used by UW Tacoma students or employees. Use of expired, forged, or altered pass may result in a citation and immobilization or impoundment (WAC 478-116-321).
General Visitor Parking Passes
- Valid in Cragle, Tioga, Pinkerton North, and TPS parking lots
- All-day passes are valid from 6 am to 11 pm, evening passes are valid from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm (this is a new pass being piloted during Spring quarter)
- $9.00 each
- Pass does not guarantee an available stall
Purchase limits
To avoid overcrowding in on-campus parking, the number of passes that can be purchased for each event is limited, as well as the total number of passes issued per day. Limits vary based on the date and time of your visit or event. Our webform has been updated to allow you to purchase more than 10 parking passes for events outside of peak parking demand. If we have already reached the daily limit and are not able to issue your requested parking passes, we will let you know as soon as possible so that you can try reaching out to an outside parking vendor.
Click the button below to request General Visitor Parking Passes. Please submit your request at least 3 days in advance for requests of 10 or fewer passes, and 2 weeks in advance for requests over 10 passes.
PLEASE NOTE : Peak parking demand is Monday through Thursday, from 8 am to 3 pm, while Autumn, Winter and Spring quarter classes are in session. Visitor parking limits are most strict during this time. If you need parking for more than 20 vehicles during peak demand, you will need to reach out to an off-campus parking provider.
Special Event Parking requests
If your needs cannot be met by the General Visitor Parking Pass, please submit a Special Event Parking request. Example requests include:
- purchasing more parking passes than are allowed by the standard request form
- reserving an entire parking lot
- passes for a lot not covered by the General pass
- large vehicle or trailer parking (please see this page for advice on bus parking - we do not offer parking passes for buses)
- other requests that are not covered by our General Visitor Passes
Please submit Special Event requests at least 3 weeks in advance of your event. If we are not able to accommodate your request in on-campus parking, you will need time to work with an outside vendor to secure parking in an off-campus lot.
Off-Campus Parking
In the event that we are not able to accommodate your parking needs in on-campus parking, you may want to work with an outside parking vendor to secure parking for your guests nearby. Especially for larger events, we also suggest providing your guests with information on off-campus parking options.
Republic Parking Northwest manages parking lots at the Tacoma Convention Center, the Glass Museum, and the Tacoma Art Museum, which are all within walking distance and may be suitable options. Please contact them directly (or another parking operator of your choosing) to set up off-campus parking for your event.
