Designing an effective and quality online course is a continuous journey. Course development is an iterative process that recognizes that there is always room for improvement and innovation. Each quarter should bring reflection on your course experience and the Office of Digital Learning is here to help you brainstorm and integrate strategies to enhance student learning opportunties and increase student success.
At UW Tacoma, we use the nationally-recognized Quality Matters (QM) program, as a benchmark for online course design. Quality Matters has three core components: the rubric, the peer review process, and professional development. While QM is intended for online courses, we promote and engourage the rubric standards for all Canvas courses in all delivery modalities.
TEACHING HYBRID OR ONLINE
To teach a course hybrid or fully online at UW Tacoma, faculty must be certified throught the iTech Fellows Program.
