Alyssa Sims joined Global Honors in Autumn 2005 and graduated in Spring 2007.
"UW Tacoma is small enough to be friendly and quiet enough so that I could focus on my studies, and big enough to have a social life. Classes in Global Honors gave me broad perspectives on the world and encouraged me to question.
"I studied in Ioannina, Greece during Spring 2006, and then spent a summer in Uganda at Lake Victoria doing program analysis of a school/orphanage. In fact, my senior thesis subsequently explored the importance of cultural sensitivity by non-governmental organizations wishing to help communities in developing nations.
"I loved the riveting discussions with my peers in our Global Honors classes. This interaction changed and strengthened my opinions and priorities."
