Zandria Michaud joined Global Honors in Autumn 2016 and graduated summa cum laude in Spring 2019.
"Global Honors allowed me to dive into and explore my own interests. It also added structure to my college experience. It allowed me to work with others who were driven and interested in learning but also from various backgrounds and majors."
Zandria was nominated for the UW Tacoma President's Medal in Spring 2019. While at UW Tacoma, she received numerous awards, including the UWT Transfer Student Scholarship, Global Honors Core Course Paper Competition Award, American Studies Award, and the Husky Volunteer Silver Medallion. Having written her Global Honors capstone on "How Local Governments Fail at Democracy," Zandria immediately began putting her research into action as a member of the Kent City Council (elected November 2019).
