What is the expected turnaround time for service requests?

Turnaround time for service requests depend upon the nature of the request and the current workload within Maintenance and Operations. Emergency requests such as an overflowing toilet or a problem that could affect the safety or health of building occupants are assigned for immediate response.

Who maintains the temperature in my office building?

The Integrated Facilities Management control technicians. Please go to the Facilities Service Request page to enter a request.

What is the standard temperature for cooling and heating?

69 to 74 degrees Fahrenheit.

Custodial Services

What days and hours are custodial services provided?

Monday to Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Find our general schedule on the Custodial Services page.

What if I have a spill or need a soap or towel dispenser filled?

For spills, immediate clean-ups or filling of dispensers, please contact our Facilities Services office at 253-692-5700 to dispatch a custodian as soon as possible.

Who do I contact if I have questions or concerns about my service request?

If you have questions at any time, contact our Facilities Services office at 253-692-5700 or facility@uw.edu.

How do I have an empty office cleaned?

Submit a service request at least five (5) working days in advance. Please allow two (2) to three (3) days for completion.

Can I have a custodian unlock a room?

For security and safety reasons, IFM employees including custodians are not authorized to unlock doors for anyone. Request for unlocking of doors must be made to Campus Safety & Security at 253-692-4416.
