Criteria
All qualified applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Ability to demonstrate strong and productive working relationship with community partners and to show a mutual and reciprocal benefit exists.
- Demonstrate innovative and/or cross-disciplinary approaches to community and public issues of concern to faculty and partners.
- Describe how the partnership began and provide evidence of building to(ward) a sustained partnership relationship over time. Show what improvements have been in the past and and how you plan changes or improvements in the future; address this to the extent possible as some work is just beginning other work is ongoing.
- Demonstrate the outcomes of the partnership work and the methods used to assess outcomes and impact. Include any scholarly outputs connected to this work, if applicable.
- Examples of community engagement assessment strategies could include documenting the frequency and type of activity related to community education, advocacy, organizing, publication & media support, or training and leadership development. The strategies can reflect the reciprocal nature of the partnership and include how the community partner is involved in the assessement process.
- Examples of community engagement published materials include peer reviewed literature, professional reports, community engaged learning projects (in class), published outreach materials, or OP-ed pieces.
- Nominees' community engagement activities must be entered into OCP's Collaboratory Data Portal, either by the application deadline or before acceptance of the award. Contact ocp@uw.edu for assistance.
Selection Process
After the application deadline has passed, the selection committee begins review of eligible nominees. The awardees will be notified by the Assistant Chancellor for Community Partnerships and a campus announcement will be made to recognize awardees.
