The Global Innovation and Design Lab is launching its first-ever Social Media Influencer competition! Please read the following information below regarding rules, guidelines, and the submission date. For questions please contact the GID Lab at globalid@uw.edu
SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN GUIDELINES:
Create a short video of 30 seconds or less or a visual meme that promotes the Innovation & Design Minor for UWT students on social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and/or Facebook. The post should include the following:
- The link to the Innovation & Design Minor page
- Must-have tags: #InnovationDesignMinor, #GlobalInnovationDesignLab, #UWT
- Good to have tags: #DesignThinking, #InclusiveInnovation, #EquitableDesign
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:
- Before creating your submission, please review the Terms and Conditions.
- You and anyone else featured or shown in your creation will also need to fill out the Personal Release Form.
- Submit your entry of a video or meme to this Submission Form by 11:59 pm. on May 2nd (Monday), 2022.
- Provide a short write-up of 100 words explaining why you created your post the way you did and how it addresses the award criteria (see next section).
ENTRIES ARE COMPETING FOR TWO PRIZES:
- Top Social Media Influencer of the GID Lab
- After submitting your video or meme, post to your own social media account(s) to garner as many likes as you can!
- Make sure you tag the GID Lab in your post! (see Terms and Conditions for social media handles)
- The cut-off time for counting the number of likes and shares is 11:59 pm May 14 (Saturday), 2022.
- Most Innovative Social Media Designer of the GID Lab
- After submitting your video or meme, a panel of judges will rate all the submitted videos and visual memes in terms of design quality based on the following criteria:
- Content: Does the creation accurately represent the Minor program? Does it demonstrate the value?
- Delivery: Does it tell a compelling story or make a strong visual impact? Does it show enthusiasm, passion, and energy? Is it easy to follow for the general public?
- Creativity: Does it give a unique and compelling angle to introduce the Minor? Does the creation demonstrate that significant thought was put into the idea(s)?
- After submitting your video or meme, a panel of judges will rate all the submitted videos and visual memes in terms of design quality based on the following criteria:
Winners will be announced on May 30th.
PRIZES:
- The student who submits the best-rated video or meme by the judges will be named the Most Innovative Social Media Designer of the GID Lab and will receive a gift card of $100 and a GID swag bag.
- The student with the most-liked post will be named the Top Social Media Influencer of the GID Lab and will receive a gift card of $100 with a GID swag bag.
- Winners are invited to serve as the Ambassadors for the Minor of Innovation & Design.
- All participants will receive a small swag item from the GID Lab.
