About our Guest Speakers
With a stellar career spanning nine years in analytics, Kirsten Lum has played a pivotal role in shaping data science, product, and engineering domains. Having honed her expertise at Amazon and Expedia, she steered numerous teams across core applied science, economics, and experience instrumentation, contributing to global-scale initiatives. Notably, Kirsten spearheaded one of Jeff Wilke's core science and economics teams at Amazon, earning recognition as one of the selected few for Amazon's prestigious top-tier leadership program.
A distinguished alumna of the University of Washington, where she graduated with Distinction, she now imparts her knowledge as a dedicated educator at their Master's of Business Analytics degree program. Kirsten Lum is currently the Chief Technology Officer for storytellers.ai, a cutting-edge consultancy, where she oversees all aspects of data science, product, and engineering.
As the dynamic CEO of storytellers.ai, Wing Yew Lum is a seasoned leader with a remarkable track record spanning fifteen years. With a solid foundation built through key roles at industry giants like Amazon and Expedia, he has honed his expertise in driving growth, overseeing product development, and leveraging cutting-edge technology. Notably, his leadership played a pivotal role in the success of high-impact projects at Amazon, including the revolutionary Alexa and Marketplace platforms. Over the course of his career, he has achieved an impressive milestone, delivering over a billion dollars in statistically validated lift. He is an alumnus of the University of Washington, where he not only excelled academically with dual degrees, but also demonstrated leadership by leading the honors college. Today, he continues to contribute to academia by sharing his insights on strategy through lectures at his alma mater.
Victor Cheng emerged as a prominent figure in the tech industry through his role as CTO and co-founder of a groundbreaking startup, conceived in a Yale dorm room while he pursued his studies in Computer Science. His expertise extends to advising on solution architecture, system design, and technology selection.
Victor's outstanding achievements have been recognized with features in ESPN and Forbes 30 under 30. Having steered his startup to over $10M in revenue, he successfully orchestrated its acquisition by Walmart Global Tech, where he currently holds the position of Distinguished Architect, overseeing marketing and advertising platforms.
