Why Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training?
UW Tacoma's mission states that the University exists to "educate diverse learners and transform communities by expanding the boundaries of knowledge and discovery." Diversity, equity, and inclusion are inexorably linked to the success of the South Sound and Washington State.
As the Professional Development Center, we are guided by a belief that everyone is better able to increase their diversity competencies when they have the opportunity to develop this knowledge and skillset within the context of their professional roles. Though many organizations have internal resources and training to help in this process, PDC’s role is to bring a diverse group of people together in new ways to share their experiences and learn new tools together.
Our workshops prepare you to analyze, diagnose, and address diversity and inclusion issues. As a participant, you’ll begin to gain the skills and insights needed to support a strategic, sustainable approach to diversity and inclusion leadership within organizations.
