Program Overview
This nine-month program is designed for human resources staff who want to develop skills to take on more responsibility or those with supervisory experience who want to begin a career in HR. Designed by an advisory board of UW faculty and human resource professionals, this program emphasizes how disciplines of human resources can be integrated to address workplace effectiveness. The courses cover all major areas of human resources as identified by the leading national certifications in human resources. Students participate in case studies, group projects and discussions of practical, real-life work situations that make the program relevant to today's workplace issues and environment. You'll benefit from the experience and insights of course instructors who are leading human resource professionals and network with a distinguished peer group of human resource professionals, making contacts you'll value throughout your career.
Who would benefit from this program?
This program is designed for early-career or uncertified human resources professionals and individuals who want to transition from other job roles into the human resources field. Certified human resources professionals may use these classes to earn professional development credits for continued certification.
Recommended Qualifications
No application required.
Some college experience recommended. Two years of experience in an HR and/or a supervisory role in another industry recommended.
Experience using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Internet access required.
