Nominees

Elizabeth Riffell

Elizabeth Riffel

"Hello! My name is Lizzy and I am a sophomore studying biomedicine here at UWT. This is my first year in the global honors program and I am intrigued by the opportunity to be a voice for the Global Honors community and program. I am interested in this role as I love student involvement and advocating for others. Some events I have in mind are hosting a soup pot luck for the homeless, group volunteer events, and possibly having a bake sale on campus during lunch hour to raise awareness about the program. I hope to bring the global honors community together in such events to make a difference in the program."

Kalea Velasco-Corsare

Kalea Velasco-Corsare

"My name is Kalea Velasco-Cosare and I am a Senior majoring in Healthcare Leadership and minoring in Global Engagement. I am interested in becoming an SLC Co-Chair because I enjoyed the quarter that I was an SLC Co-Chair last year and would like to continue in this position again this year. I want to build more connections with other Global Honor students and host events that expand opportunities for Global Honor student community building at UWT. Events I would like to program include community building and de-stressing events such as a blanket making activity, a sip and paint activity, and a lei making event. Thank you for your consideration in voting me as SLC Co-Chair! "

"The reason why I would like to be a Global Honors student leader is so I can be an example to returning students who think they are too afraid to go back to school due to age. Having representation for several age ranges helps different types of students feel included. Some events I would like to see is maybe something like a movie night where we would make jokes over the movie or analysis of the movie. I think having a wide range of movies would be fun."
