We are pleased to share that Dr. Katie Haerling was selected to receive a Nurses of Influence Aware - Distinguished Researcher Award. BAHCL Alum, Anh Lam Accepted into the Master's in Data Science Program at Boston University
Congratulations to Anh Lam, a 2020 graduate of UW Tacoma's School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership's Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Leadership program on getting accepted into the Master's in Data Science program at Boston University's School of Public Health. She is currently working as a Clinical Research Coordinator in cancer research. She shared that "As a first-generation immigrant and college graduate, I am passionate about advancing my career and making a significant impact in the field of cancer clinical research. Driven by my passion to delve deeper into my field and truly make a difference, I've decided to pursue a Master's in Data Science. Through this program, my goal is to refine my analytical skills and gain a deeper understanding of data science techniques. This will empower me to drive innovation and contribute to improve outcomes in cancer research."

Janet Runbeck and Cheryl Davis, Alums of both Tacoma General Hospital School of Nursing and UW Tacoma's School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership Featured in the News Tribune
Janet Runbeck and Cheryl Davis, SNHCL's Master of Nursing Alums, were featured in the News Tribune as two of the handful of alums from the Tacoma General Hospital School of Nursing which has been closed for 44 years, continuing to live its legacy. Although Janet retired in 2014, she continues to volunteer as a public health nurse and is involved in the community. Cheryl Davis worked in operating rooms for 24 years and then became an educator. She is the president of the Tacoma General Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae. Learn more about Janet and Cheryl here.

Dr. Patsy Maloney, SNHCL's Teaching Professor Inducted as 2024 Fellow to the American Academy of Nursing
Congratulations to SNHCL's Teaching Professor, Dr. Patsy Maloney on being inducted as a member of the 2024 Fellows of Nurses Leaders to the American Academy of Nursing. Dr. Maloney and her cohort were selected from a competitive pool of applicants. The American Academy of Nursing indicated, "The inductees will be recognized for their substantial and sustained impact on health and health care at the Academy’s annual Health Policy Conference, taking place on October 31 – November 2, 2024 in Washington, DC."
