A group of students from the field of Computer sciences from the universities of León (ULE) and Washington are participating in training sessions taking place in León, which aim to provide them with the skills necessary to develop mobile apps in a multicultural perspective. Fruit of the relationship between both institutions, these training sessions have been taking place at the University of Washington’s facilities in León since June 21st and until tomorrow, Thursday, under the guidance of professors Menaka Abraham and Raghavi Sakpal from the School of Engineering and Technology of the University of Washington [Tacoma].
This program is presented to students of Computer Science of the University of Washington and of Computer Engineering of the University of León. Apart from theoretical classes, the students have been doing guided exercises complemented with visits to other institutions such as the Centro de Supercomputación and the INCIBE, as well as a cultural program.
The course is focused on the development of computational skills for mobile app design that will enable a better interaction between the user and the product or service. At the end of the course, the students will present the results of their work in an open exhibit at the Conde de Luna palace, where the center of the University of Washington in León is located.
Apart from the course, professors Abraham and Sakpal had meetings with several members of León’s academia as well as with the assistant dean for internationalization, Roberto Baelo, and the head of International Outreach, Adriana Suárez Corona, intending to intensify the relationship between both universities in the fields of student exchange, Doctorate thesis collaboration and the development of joint investigations focused on fields such as cryptography, cyber security, Artificial intelligence, machine learning, programming, etc.
