Nominated By: Sean Schmidt
I am nominating Monica to recognize her exceptional customer service, especially when working with new student employees. From walking them through the hiring and initial Workday login process, to making sure their timekeeping gets done in a timely manner so that they get paid correctly and on time each pay period, she always works extra hard to make sure our student employees are taken care of and have a good experience joining the Student Affairs team and while they are part of our staff.
I think Monica exemplifies two core values, Customer Service and Student-centeredness. Not only does she make each student that gets hired into our Division feel welcome and supported, Monica is busy each pay period cycle making sure that students submit their hours for review and approval so that they can be paid the full amount owed to them and on time. If, for some reason, time does not get submitted on time for the payroll cycle, Monica explores options for getting payment to the students as soon as possible, knowing how important regular paychecks are to the students.
