Why join a cohort?
By participating in a cohort at Husky Post Prison Pathways, students not only receive individualized support and guidance but also become part of a tight-knit community that celebrates their successes and supports them through challenges. It's through this collaborative and supportive environment that our students are able to thrive and achieve their goals.
Utilizing a cohort model will:
- Create space for a group of formerly incarcerated/legal system impacted UWT students to build community and relationship with one another over an extended period of time.
- Create opportunities for self-exploration, personal development, professional development, and networking specifically intended for formerly incarcerated students.
- Inspire, motivate, and guide formerly incarcerated UWT students to explore and reach their academic and career potential.
- Introduce concepts, principles, and practices that formerly incarcerated UWT students can add to their toolbelt as they embark on their journey as leaders and advocates for issues they care about.
- Reduce barriers to participation in non-academic activities on campus through incentivized monthly touch points.
Schedule
- Required: 2 hour workshops, first Tuesday of each month, stipend provided
- Optional: Social/Community building activity each month
