Celebrate Public Service Recognition Week with Us
Since 1985, the first week of May has been an opportunity to express gratitude to those who serve our nation as federal, state, county, local, and tribal government employees. All are welcome to attend a free virtual lunch-and-learn on May 4: “Compassion in Leadership.”

Every day we benefit from the work of diligent public sector employees – the roads and transit that take us to work or school, the parks we visit on the weekends, the retirement and entitlement checks we receive, and more. May 1 - 7 is an opportunity for public employers and the general public to recognize this hard work.
Organized by the Partnership for Public Service since 1985, Public Service Recognition Week features awards, events, and other activities that highlight the work of public employees. Over 100 federal government, state and local government, higher education, nonprofit, and private sector organizations are signed on to participate in 2022.
WA Office of Financial Management State Human Resources coordinates the state’s annual celebration and employee awards, which will include online presentations for state employees, live in-person events in Spokane and the Tri-Cities, a virtual awards event, and even discounted tickets to Rainiers and Mariners games.
