Data
The library is available for consultations and workshops around research data management, such as creating a data management plan, citing data, and making data openly available. You can learn more about the tools and services offered by the UW Libraries on our Data Management Guide.
Digital Scholarship
Whether you are interested in making your scholarship publicly-engaged or you want to find an alternative to a traditional research paper, you may be considering different digital scholarship options. The library is here to help you and your students use emerging technology critically and successfully. Instruction on using these tools can be delivered via synchronous Zoom sessions, asynchronous video, or Canvas modules. Some of the tools the library supports are:
- WordPress and SPLOTs
- Omeka
- Manifold Publishing
- StoryMaps
- Open Source tools such as Collection Builder, Audacity, or Knight Lab storytelling tools
To learn more or get started, reach out to Erika Bailey, our Data and Digital Scholarship Librarian.
Instructional Design
The Library offers instructional design services for faculty and staff. We are happy to consult and collaborate on:
- Designing assignments or classroom activities
- Incorporating active learning techniques
- Planning a lesson or workshop
- Integrating new technologies
- Creating online learning objects
- Aligning learning objectives and assessments
Open Educational Resources (OER)
Open Educational Resources (OER) are openly-licensed, freely available educational materials that can be easily used, modified, and redistributed by users. They are commonly used to help students save money on expensive course materials, but also allow instructors to create custom learning objects that are tailored to their curriculums and preferences. The Library can help you get started with finding, using, or creating OER.
