In U.S. News & World Report’s 2022 Best Nursing Schools: Master’s rankings, the University of Washington School of Nursing is ranked No. 1 among public schools offering a Master of Nursing degree (tied for No. 6 overall). The School of Nursing was also ranked No. 1 among public schools with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree (No. 3 overall).
The ranking for master’s programs is based on the quality of education and the reputation of UW Tacoma’s School of Nursing & Healthcare Leadership and UW Bothell’s School of Nursing & Health Studies. The Seattle campus School of Nursing does not currently offer a Master of Nursing degree.
“Nursing is jointly accredited across the three campuses,” said Dr. Sharon Fought, Dean of the Tacoma school. “We are incredibly fortunate to be one of three campuses of the world-renowned UW School of Nursing, led by Executive Dean Azita Emami, and to have terrific faculty colleagues. I am incredibly proud that our work to bring nursing education of the highest quality to the South Sound has been recognized by this ranking.”
These rankings place the nursing schools at the UW Seattle, Bothell, and Tacoma campuses at the top of almost 600 accredited nursing schools with master’s and/or doctoral programs in the nation.
Two years ago, the UW MN program was ranked No. 4 nationally among public schools by U.S. News & World Report. That was the first year in which data from all three UW campuses was included in the material reviewed by the publication.
