Chemical from tyres linked to mass salmon deaths in U.S. found in Australia for first time

Australian researchers have identified 6PPD-Quinone, a substance derived from tire preservatives in that country's waters. A team led by UW Tacoma's Ed Kolodziej and the Center for Urban Waters first identified the substance in the U.S.
