Hobby: Trying new restaurants in Tacoma, pub trivia, PC gaming, British comedy, road trips, hard cider.
Favorite Place on UW Tacoma campus and Why: I really like the TPS building and its open floor plan - there's lots of buildings that weren't open or constructed when I was a student so I like to explore in my free time.
Nominated by: Victoria Hill-Ouhl
I would like to nominate Marisa Mezs for the spotlight award. She is a hardworking and dedicated employee, who takes her work here at UW seriously and always strives for excellence. She is quite adept at empowering students and does so in a gentle and kind way. She is collaborative and always willing to help and assist others without expecting recognition or reward. Her teamwork is extraordinary, and I consider her a very valued member of the team. She is inclusive, equitable, accountable for her actions and the quality of her work. Her customer service is consistently excellent. I could go on. But I will end with this, her student-centeredness is at the core of her work and the university benefits greatly from her dedication to that particular value.
