We are excited for you as you enter your first quarter at UW Tacoma!
Your pre-major academic advisor will work with you until you declare or are accepted into your major program.
Below are steps to getting started with academic advising.
If you have questions, please contact University Academic Advising at uwtuaa@uw.edu or (253) 692-4857.

Step 1: UW Email
Email is the University's primary way of communicating with you. To protect your privacy, all electronic communication with the University should be sent from your UW email address that ends with @uw.edu. If you have not already done so, set up your UW email using the button below.
NOTE: Set up your UW email as a separate GMail or Outlook inbox; forwarding to a non-UW personal address often causes severe delays in response times, what identification information is required of you in order to receive a response, and what FERPA protected information can be shared by university faculty and staff.

Step 2: Learn about Registration
Review information related to making an academic plan, finding classes, and getting registered.
My Plan is your online academic planning and registration tool. You can use it to search for classes, map out plans by quarter and audit your degree progress.
Transfer credits are visible in your MyPlan Degree Audit after they are evaluated by the Office of Admissions.
New Transfer students can register for their first quarter starting in Registration Period II.

Step 3: New Student Advising
Make an appointment as soon as you receive an email that your transfer credit evaluation has been completed from the Office of Admissions. You can do so by clicking the button below.
You will meet with your pre-major* academic advisor to explore majors, clarify interests and strengths, and to make an academic plan.
We encourage you to connect with advising early and often!
*If you know for certain that you have already been formally admitted to a major program (you can check by going to MyUW > Profile > Student Profile > Major), you can schedule with your major advisor here: Guide to Academic Advising.
