Freshman Direct Admission
Guarantee your spot in the School of Engineering and Technology at UW Tacoma - one of the largest academic schools on campus! SET Direct is designed for true freshmen and running start students with at least a year of pre-requisites to complete.
How to be considered:
- Submit the freshman university application to UW Tacoma by the January 15 date priority date
- AND select one of the SET majors as your first-choice major on the freshman application.

Undergraduate Admission
All SET programs require admission to UW Tacoma and activated UW student ID number to submit an application.
- Not yet admitted to UWT: You must be admitted to UWT and have a UW student ID number in order to submit your SET application. Apply for admission to UW Tacoma well before the program application deadline.
- Transfer Students: Depending on your intended major, community college students are strongly encouraged to pursue either the Associate in Science - Transfer Track 2 or the Associate of Science – Mechanical/Civil/Aero Major Related Program (MRP). Refer to the admission section for your intended program for specifics. Use the UW Course Equivalency Guide to determine the equivalent prerequisites at your school.

Graduate Admissions
SET Graduate program applications are built into the UW Graduate School Admissions.
Materials for the application may include:
- Personal Statement
- Resume
- Proof of English Language Proficiency
- Transcripts
- Short Answer Questions
- Graduate Record Exam (GRE)
- Application Fee
Tuition and Aid Applications
