All UWT undergraduate students are encouraged to consider the benefits of the full Minor in Global Engagement, but the Institute for Innovation and Global Engagement also offers certificates in Global Citizenship and Global Leadership with fewer credit requirements (8 -16 credits) for those who wish to take advantage of the signature opportunities of the Minor (globally-themed classes with a small faculty to student ratio, experiential learning opportunities) without overburdening a busy academic schedule. While there is no capstone requirement for the certificate level, students are required to submit a poster presentation to the annual Global Engagement Conference.
The certificate pathways combine three pillars of excellence - scholarly advancement, effective leadership, and community engagement, and, like the Minor in Global Engagement, considerably enhance a student's academic credentials.
