Politics, Philosophy, and Public Affairs (PPPA)
In the Division of Politics, Philosophy, and Public Affairs (PPPA), we offer innovative majors and minors with exciting curricular and extracurricular opportunities. Our majors are excellent for students interested in current events, public affairs, politics, ethics, human rights, economics, international studies, law, philosophy, and more. Our faculty are committed to students and active scholarship.
- In our Law and Policy major, students examine issues related to law and public policy from both domestic and global perspectives.
- Our Politics, Philosophy, & Economics (PP&E) major engages students with social problems and their potential solutions from multiple disciplinary perspectives.
- Our new Economics and Policy Analysis (EPA) major looks at the connections between markets and governments to engage in critical enquiry about public policy at the local, state, and national levels.
All three majors offer small, discussion-based classes, with the opportunity for hands-on experience through internships.
Each of our majors require a capstone experience, and students may major with honors by completing additional requirements. This is a recommended option if you are considering graduate school.
PPPA graduates go on to a wide range of careers such as law, politics, public administration, nonprofit work, business, and education. You can read about some of them on our PPPA Blog.
Sign up for our Alumni Listserv! Get notices on jobs, careers, internships, events and other opportunities related to politics, economics and public affairs.
