Legal Pathways Fellows Program
Legal Pathways Fellows will begin accepting applications for students hoping to start law school in the fall of 2025 in January 2024. Applications are currently closed for students planning to start law school in the fall of 2024. If you are starting LSAT prep with the hopes of starting law school in the fall of 2024 and have missed the Legal Pathways Fellows application window, please reach out to lpathway@uw.edu to find out about alternative forms of LSAT support that may be available to you!
Eligibility and Application Information
Legal Pathways Fellows will be selected on a competitive basis considering a wide variety of factors. To be considered, applicants must submit a complete application and supporting materials by the application deadline. In addition to the required application materials, in order to be eligible for consideration, applicants must:
- Be a current University of Washington junior, senior, or alumni;
- Intend to apply to law school with a fall 2025 matriculation (start) date;
- Be a first time LSAT test-taker or have received a 149 or below on a prior test administration;
- Be able to commit to intensive LSAT study between in the summer/fall of 2024 utilizing a commercial LSAT preparation program (approximately 15-20 hours per week)
- Commit to take the LSAT in the fall of 2024
- Have taken or register to take TLAW200 (2 credit Pre-Law Seminar) (to be offered in Spring 2024)*
Students from groups underrepresented in the legal field including alumni who are members of underrepresented minority groups, formerly incarcerated, or first-generation college students are highly encouraged to apply.
Required Application Materials:
- Legal Pathways Fellows application form;
- Résumé including GPA, major/minor, and all academic awards (2-page limit);
- Personal statement reflecting on how the applicant will contribute to the leadership and diversity of the legal community (700-word limit);
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Expectations of Legal Pathways Fellows:
- Meet all LSAT, law school application, and program deadlines;
- Attend all classes associated with the LSAT preparatory course
- Commit to 15 hours a week of LSAT preparation for 12 weeks (including time spent in LSAT course);
- Take TLAW 200
- Respond in a timely way to all inquiries from Legal Pathways

- Complete the Legal Pathways Fellows application form online. Please complete the form in its entirety, taking care to answer all questions thoroughly.
- Email your (1) personal statement and (2) resume to lpathway@uw.edu. Please save files using your last name and a description of the document (i.e., “Smith, Personal Statement” or “Jones, Resume”)
