Acompáñenos el viernes, 11 de Octubre para la segunda celebración anual de Celebrando Comunidad: Latine Awards + Celebración. Este evento, iniciado en 2021 por personal, facultad, estudiantes, ex alumnos, y los miembros de la comunidad reconoce y celebra las contribuciones de aquellos en South Puget Sound que se identifican como miembros de comunidades o organizaciones Latine que impactan directamente y positivamente a las comunidades Latine del South Sound.

Categorías de Premios
Dueño de un Negocio: Reconoce un negocio que pertenece a la comunidad Latine que sobresale en la creación de comunidad y servicio a la comunidad.
Líder Emergente: Reconoce el liderazgo, potencial, y crecimiento de las comunidades en el South Sound.
Premio a la Juventud Karl Ortiz: Reconoce la resiliencia, los logros y el potencial de contribuir como líder para estudiantes de educación secundaria o programa equivalente.
Justicia Social: Reconoce a personas o grupos que trabajan con el fin de traer justicia (en el nombre de la justicia), contribuyendo de forma significativa a las causas que impactan a las comunidades Latine y otras comunidades de color.

Ejemplos pueden incluir palabras habladas y poesía slam, pintura, arquitectura, música, literatura, teatro, baile, creación de avenidas/foros que facilitan el crecimiento del arte y cultura Latine, etc.
Liderazgo Latine en Sistemas de Salud: Reconoce a personas o organizaciones que demuestran su empeño (dedicación) para aumentar el acceso a cuidados de salud de alta calidad y que son culturalmente adecuados para las comunidades Latine, promoviendo la salud y el bienestar de la comunidad.
Educación Latine: Reconoce a personas, grupos o organizaciones que sirven a las comunidades Latine de forma popular, formal o informal. Este premio reconoce la transferencia de diferentes conocimientos de un entidad o individuo a otro para proveer acceso a información, recursos y apoyo para el aprendizaje de los miembros de las comunidades Latine. Ejemplos pueden incluir un programa de asesoría (o mentoring) para estudiantes, clases comunitarias de arte, salud y bienestar físico, un canal de educación financiera en YouTube, clases de cocina en persona, o también un profesor, maestro o empleado que trabaje en instituciones de educación. Este premio no se limita a los ambientes académicos.
Join us on Friday, October 11th for the fourth annual Celebrando Comunidad: Latine Awards + Celebration. This event started in 2021 by staff, faculty, alumni, and community members recognizes and celebrates the contributions of those in the Puget Sound who identify as members of the Latine communities or organizations who directly and positively impact South Sound Latine communities.

Award Categories
South Sound Latinx-Owned Business Award: Recognizes a Latine-owned business excelling in community building, service, and catering to the community.
Emerging Leader: Recognizes leadership, potential, and growth in South Sound communities.
Karl Ortiz Youth Award: Recognizes the resilience, accomplishments, and potential to contribute as future leaders of high school and high school equivalency students.
Social Justice/Advocacy Award: Recognizes individuals or organizations that work in the spirit of justice, contributing meaningfully to causes that impact Latine communities and other communities of color.
Latine Art and Culture Award: Recognizes individuals or organizations for their contributions to art and cultural practices that carry deep and varied meanings to Latine communities. Examples may include spoken word and slam poetry, painting, sculpture, architecture, music, literature, drama, dance, creating venues/forums that facilitate the growth of Latino arts and culture, etc.
Latine Health Care Award: Recognizes individuals or organizations that demonstrate a commitment to increasing access to high-quality and culturally competent healthcare for Latinx communities, promoting health and wellbeing.
Latine Education Award: Recognizes an individual, group, or organization that serves Latine communities in pursuing educational success, formally or informally. This award acknowledges the transfer of knowledge from one entity or individual to another as a means to provide access to information, resources, and support for learning to members of Latine communities. Examples could be a high school mentor group, community classes on art, health/fitness, a financial literacy YouTube channel, in-person cooking classes, in addition to a professor, teacher or staff person who works within formal educational institutions. This award is not strictly limited to academic environments.
