Partnership Between UW Tacoma and the Coast Guard
On December 9, 2019, Chancellor Mark Pagano of the University of Washington Tacoma and Rear Adm. Jack Vogt, commander of the 13th Coast Guard District, signed a special agreement.
This partnership opens doors for individuals interested in higher education while serving as officers in the Coast Guard. Candidates can apply for the College Student Pre-Commissioning Initiative (CSPI) through a recruiter, and we provide their contact information on this page.
As a recognized Minority Serving Institution, UW Tacoma aligns with the Coast Guard's goal of building a more diverse officer workforce. This program focuses on recruiting candidates from institutions like ours.
