Referring Students to the TLC
The TLC offers academic support services to all students and believes that all students can benefit from feedback and academic community. Faculty can encourage all students to use the TLC in the following ways:
- Include the most recent TLC Service Statement on all of your syllabi
- Arrange a TLC class visit
- Tell students a personal story about the value of seeking and receiving feedback from colleagues
We also welcome faculty referrals of students to the TLC. The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) offers free academic support for students at all levels. We offer one-on-one consultations and group workshops in writing, math, statistics, science, business, and study skills. We also work with students at all stages of their writing and on questions about English grammar and vocabulary, reading, and learning strategies. Our schedules for appointments and drop-in visits are posted on our website at www.tacoma.uw.edu/tlc. For special needs or subject tutoring requests, please email uwtteach@uw.edu or call (253) 692-4417.
