Jannat
arrow_drop_down_circleJannat
Hello everyone! My name is Jannat and I am a sophomore majoring in psychology and planning to also double major in Social Welfare. I am a First Gen Fellows student as well as the secretary for MESAA here at UWT. In the future, I aim to become a social worker specializing in youth. In my free time, I like to read, spend time with my family, and explore new crystal shops, bookstores, and museums.
Ambre
arrow_drop_down_circleAmbre
Hello everyone! My name is Ambre (pronounced like Amber), my pronouns are she/her, and I
am a Senior in the Biomedical Sciences major. I am a part of the LGBTQIA+ community and am
an immigrant turned citizen. I was born in The Netherlands, moved to the States when I was
four, but my family is from France (confusing, I know). Before attending UWT, I spent two
years at WSU, transferred to Bellevue College, where I got my AA and then transferred here. My
hope is to become a Genetic Counselor, and possibly a professor after that. Having been at three
institutions, I have had lots of interesting experiences, but UWT has quickly become my favorite,
the small campus with the perks of a larger university. In my free time, I like to spend time with
friends and family, go outside for picnics or hikes, traveling and discovering new cultures, paint,
read, play some video games (mainly Minecraft) or really anything that brings me joy.
Jose
Hola! I'm Jose!
Hana Mei
arrow_drop_down_circleHana Mei
Hi there! My name is Hana Mei, and I use she/her pronouns. I am currently a graduate student at UWT obtaining a Master of Social Work. I also have my Bachelor's in Social Welfare and a Minor in Business Administration from UWT. I work on campus as a Peer Success Mentor with the Teaching and Learning Center, as a Student Advising Mentor with University Academic Advising, and as a Student Case Manager with the Office of Student Advocacy and Support. Needless to say, I love being a part of the UWT community. I am particularly passionate about supporting neurodiversity within higher education; I have utilized DRS accommodations since undergrad due to my learning disability and have made neurodiversity advocacy a specialty in my social work practice. I look forward to connecting with you!
AJ
Hi everyone, I’m AJ (she/they) and I’m a Psychology major with a minor in Sociology and SSRM (Social Science Research Methods). In the future, I hope to work as a Community-Based Psychologist. I am an officer for FASA sa UWT and the Sisterhood of Pi Nu Iota, which are both Filipino-affiliated organizations. I find joy in going to concerts, reading and buying books, and playing video games when I have the time. I am always on campus at some point, so don’t be afraid to say hi!
Jalina
arrow_drop_down_circleJalina
Hello there, everyone! My name is Jalina (she/her) and am one of your Peer Success Mentor AAPI THRIVE Wayfinders. I am a first year student intending to major in Education (with a minor in mathematics) and an aspiring high school math teacher! Prior to my position as a Wayfinder, I was also on the other side of things as an AAPI THRIVE Scholar! As someone who is freshly graduated from high school and also newly navigating as a freshman in university, I know a thing or two about academic and environmental challenges.
My interests include Ted Lasso, spending time with friends, reading, collecting stationery (in typical teacher fashion), and anything involving the outdoors. Hiking, running, swimming– you name it! Although, I only just taught myself to ride the bike.
That being said, UW is easily one of my favorite places. If you spot me on campus–most likely in a library somewhere –never hesitate to say hello! I’m already looking forward to meeting you!
Haina

I intend to teach 10th-11th grade but I want to start with elementary school and work my way up to high school. I am also the community coordinator for our PISA club at UWT. In my free time, I like listening to music, watching TV, and cooking/eating, and being outdoors (sometimes). I may look mean if you see me in person but I am nice, I promise :) Manuia le aso!
